Building Community, Advocating for Our Neighborhoods

Jake Fitisemanu is a community builder and community health advocate, running for re-election to House District 30 in West Valley City. He’s served the district since 2024, when he became one of the first Samoan Americans elected to a state legislature in the continental United States. 

Growing up, Jake’s home was always full. A seemingly never-ending stream of family and friends were present, and his parents always had an open door and a commitment to the importance of sharing what they had with their community. Jake continues this way of life through service and collaboration, having served as a White House Commissioner, West Valley City Councilmember, and now as our state House Representative.

He has spent his career working in community health advocacy and has always believed that good policy starts with listening. Jake has stayed true to that commitment: standing up, speaking out, and putting people first. He is focused on solutions for West Valley families, and he’s running for re-election to continue fighting for quality of life, affordability, and opportunity for all Utahns.
